Please apply in person at any Allen County Public Library location. Human Resources' hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am until 5:00pm and Wednesday from 9:00am until 6:00pm. The Human Resources office is closed on Friday.

GEORGETOWN BRANCH SHELVER
Part-time, 12-hour per week shelver at the Georgetown Branch. Applications for Georgetown Branch shelver will not be considered unless the skills test has been completed. The schedule for the Georgetown Branch shelver will be Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 7:00 – 11:00am. Shelver pays $7.98 per hour. If you are interested in applying for Georgetown Branch shelver, you must have completed the tenth grade and be able to shelve and retrieve materials stored in specific numerical or alphabetical order. Strong physical stamina is needed for standing, walking, stooping, and stretching more than 80% of the work time. Responsibilities of the Georgetown Branch shelver include receiving and sorting material; retrieving and returning books and other library materials at patron or staff request; shelving items and other tasks as assigned.



The Allen County Public Library receives much of its annual budget through Property Taxes. Because of recent changes to Property Tax laws, our funding will be affected and the library needs to reduce its spending. Therefore, in the event a current employee leaves his or her position with the Allen County Public Library, and management determines the vacancy must be filled, an attempt will be made to fill the opening with a person already employed by the library. If management determines a vacancy must be filled but cannot be filled with a current staff member, the position will be posted on this website. * Please apply only for positions which are currently posted. Applications we receive which do not indicate a currently open position will be filed as inactive and will not be considered for employment.

* You may apply for as many currently posted positions as you like. Please make sure you meet the minimum requirements stated in the job description and are able to work the schedule as it is posted. If the position requires a skills test, you must pass the skills test in order to be considered for that position. Please note that all housekeeping, maintenance and security positions require a valid driver's license.

* We do not automatically re-submit applications. Please keep track of our current openings and contact the Human Resources office if you would like another position added to your application.

* Applications and skills test scores are held from January 1st through December 31st of each year. If you have applied for a position that is not filled before December 31st, your application for that position only will carry over until that position is closed. For any positions that open after January 1st, you will need to complete a new application for the new year. If you apply for a position after January 1st that requires a skills test, you will need to take the skills test again for the new year.
